(Updated September 2020)
AdvoConnection, one of the DiagKNOWsis family of patient support activities, is committed to respecting the privacy and security of our users. Our goal is to provide you with the information, resources, and services that are most relevant and helpful to you.
To demonstrate our commitment to your privacy, we have prepared this statement disclosing our privacy practices. Here you will learn what personal identifying information of yours is collected, how and when we might use your information, how we protect your information, who has access to your information, and how you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.
Information We Collect and How We Use It*
When you SEARCH for an Advocate (FIND an advocate) we collect no personally indentifying information from you.
If you fill out a Request to Find an Advocate, we collect the information needed to help you find an advocate. It is then stored for up to 90 days and when someone comes forward to help you, the information you have supplied is shared with them. Requests are not accepted for advocates located outside the US or Canada.
If you fill out a form on an advocate’s listing to ask that advocate to contact you, that information gets passed on to the advocate. AdvoConnection does not collect your individual information to use for any additional purposes.
If you provide a testimonial to be included on one of our members’ listings, we may use your email address to confirm you sent the testimonial. We will not contact you except for that stated purpose. Your email address will not be published publicly, nor will it be shared with the advocate for whom you wrote the testimonial.
If you provide a complaint about an advocate, that information will be shared only with the advocate in question. The complaints themselves may be shared with other advocates, but at no time will your name or personal information be shared (it will be deidentified.)
How We Protect Your Information
Your information is not stored on any publicly accessible servers and therefore cannot be accessed by anyone who would use it for reasons other than your intent to find an advocate.
*No advocates located outside the US or Canada are found in this directory; therefore no searches should be undertaken by anyone located in any other country.
Who Has Access to the Information?
In addition to the use of your contact information described above, your information will be shared in the following ways:
- as required by law, in a matter of public safety or policy, or as needed in connection with the transfer of other business assets. In compliance with U.S. law, AdvoConnection does not share information with any unaffiliated third parties for marketing purposes.
- with other DiagKNOWsis businesses.
- as needed in connection with the transfer of business assets.
